Starlo's Family Guide

Bringing Your Starlo's Home

A Little Help for the Beginning of a Beautiful Friendship

Bringing home a Starlo's American Cockapoo is the beginning of a new chapter for both puppy and family. This guide brings together helpful Starlo's information for those first days at home and the years of Cockapoo companionship ahead.

The First Days Home

Keep Mealtime Familiar

Your puppy is accustomed to the food being served at Starlo Ranch. Keeping your puppy on the same food at first can help make the transition to a new home easier. If you plan to change foods, introduce the new food gradually by mixing it with the food your puppy is already eating, allowing time for your puppy to adjust.

Debbie's Tip

"Ask what your puppy is currently eating before bringing your new family member home so you can have it ready."

Puppies are curious, and the things they explore with their noses and mouths are not always puppy-safe. Foods, medications, household items, and plants that seem harmless can sometimes cause problems for dogs.

Keep potentially harmful foods, medications, household products, and plants safely out of reach. Before giving your puppy human medication or something you are unsure about, check with your veterinarian or a trusted animal poison-control resource.
